In 2003 we were involved in the re-launching/re-awareness of the VESPA brand in South Africa. The client wanted to generate more sales (maximum sales) to increase the sales margins within our country. So what we did was a considerable risk, yet calculated.
We created a duplicate traffic fine (Those days small 10 mm x 20 mm paper). Instead of having the SA departments normal lingo on it, we did the layout exactly as if it looked like a traffic fine BUT inserted our COPY based on a marketing strat for VESPA. People were furious, why they saw a number and did not read the fine per say, we were in the press, those whom read it bought it!!!!!
